Backbeat Drum Studio Policy Agreement

Drums

1. Payment Policy

  • Initial Payment: Payment is due at the beginning of the first lesson for new students.

  • Ongoing Payment: For returning students, payment for the upcoming four-week package is due at the last lesson of the current package.

  • No Refund Policy: If payment for the month has been made and two or more lessons have already been taken, no refunds will be issued, including if you are unhappy with your progress. Your progress is determined by the work that you put in practicing on your own time.

  • Example: If you've attended three lessons and feel dissatisfied with your progress, no refund will be given for the remaining lesson in that package.

  • Late Fee: Failure to pay on time will result in a late fee charge. An additional $10 will be added for every week the payment is delayed.

  • Example: If payment is one week late, a $10 late fee is added. If payment is two weeks late, the fee increases to $20, and so on.

  • Drop Policy: If payment is more than two weeks late, you may be dropped from the studio roster without a refund and will be charged an additional fee of $50, along with the accumulated late fees.

  • Example: If you miss a payment deadline by more than two weeks, your spot may be forfeited, and you will need to pay an additional $50 fee, plus any late fees, to resume lessons.

  • Breach of Agreement: Lessons will not be scheduled or continued if this agreement is breached.

2. Rescheduling Policy

  • Student Reschedule Allowance: Each student is allowed one rescheduled lesson per four-week package cycle.

  • Example: If you have a four-lesson package and need to reschedule one lesson, please notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance. Additional reschedules beyond the one allowed will not be accommodated.

  • Instructor Reschedule: The instructor, being a gigging musician, may occasionally need to reschedule lessons. While every effort is made to schedule shows around lessons, sometimes unforeseen circumstances may arise.

  • Example: If a performance opportunity arises that conflicts with a scheduled lesson, your instructor will provide as much notice as possible and work with you to find a suitable alternative time.

  • Forfeited Reschedule: If you fail to reschedule your lesson when prompted by the instructor, that lesson will be considered forfeited and will not be refunded.

  • Example: If the instructor notifies you to reschedule a lesson and you do not respond or make alternative arrangements, that lesson will be forfeited.

3. No Call, No Show Policy

  • Forfeited Lessons: If a student fails to show up for a scheduled lesson without prior notice (No Call, No Show), that lesson will be considered forfeited and will not be refunded or rescheduled.

  • Example: If you do not show up for a lesson and do not notify the instructor, that lesson is forfeited and cannot be made up.

4. Online Lesson Policy

  • No Call, No Show Policy: If a student fails to show up for a scheduled online lesson without prior notice (No Call, No Show), that lesson will be considered forfeited and will not be refunded or rescheduled.

  • Example: If you do not log into the online platform for your scheduled lesson and do not notify the instructor in advance, that lesson is forfeited.

  • Technical Issues: Students are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and a properly functioning device for online lessons. Lessons missed due to technical issues on the student's end will not be refunded or rescheduled.

  • Example: If your internet connection fails during the lesson and you are unable to reconnect, that lesson is forfeited.

  • Punctuality: Please be logged in and ready to start your online lesson at the scheduled time. Lessons that start late due to the student's tardiness will not be extended beyond the scheduled end time.

  • Example: If you log in 10 minutes late, your lesson will still end at the scheduled time, and the lost time will not be made up.

5. Lesson Recording and Social Media

  • Consent to Recording: Do you consent to having your lessons recorded and posted on the studio's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)?

  • Example: Occasionally, the instructor may record a segment of your lesson to showcase student progress and studio activities on social media.

  • ☐ Yes

  • ☐ No

6. Lesson Schedule

  • Standard Schedule: All lessons are 30 minutes long and occur on the same day and time each week unless otherwise stated.

  • Changing Schedule: If you need to change the lesson time or day, it must be communicated by the penultimate lesson of the current package.

  • Example: If your lesson is scheduled on Wednesdays at 4 PM and you need to change it, notify the instructor before the 3rd lesson if you're in a 4-lesson package.

7. Parental Attendance and Consent

  • Attendance for Minors: Parents or guardians are required to be in attendance in a designated seating area during lessons if the student is under the age of 13.

  • Example: For children aged 12 and under, a parent or guardian must remain present during the lesson.

  • Parental Signature: A parent or guardian's signature is required for students under the age of 18.

8. General Policies

  • Punctuality: Please arrive on time for your lessons. Lessons that start late due to the student's tardiness will not be extended beyond the scheduled end time.

  • Practice Expectations: Regular practice outside of lessons is crucial for progress. Students are expected to practice consistently and come prepared to each lesson.

  • Respect and Conduct: All students and accompanying parents/guardians are expected to maintain a respectful and positive attitude during lessons. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of lessons without a refund.

  • Communication: For any questions or concerns regarding scheduling, payments, or other matters, please contact your instructor directly or email us at Backbeatdrumstudio@gmail.com.
